Dual Enrollment Toolkit

Development of an online toolkit—in partnership with the Career Ladders Project and input and support from the CCCCO—designed to support secondary-postsecondary partnerships focused on providing dual enrollment opportunities to historically underserved high school students.

Dual Enrollment Toolkit Now Available!

The RP Group and the Career Ladders Project have collaborated to develop and disseminate an online dual enrollment toolkit with support from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, focusing specifically on concrete guidance and resources for secondary-postsecondary partnerships that support historically underrepresented high school students in earning college credits at California community colleges while they complete the requirements for their high school diplomas.

Project Information

This online resource includes definitions and models; tools for marketing, communications, and messaging; models for agreements; examples of registration and enrollment materials; and policies, regulations, and legislation. Input from an advisory committee and interviews with and surveys of other experts and stakeholders have helped guide the project team’s development of this interactive resource.

March 2016 CCCCO Legal Opinion (16-02) on new and related legislation released by the CCCCO’s Legal Affairs Division, which offers written opinions on statewide issues or public interest concerns, has also shaped the toolkit’s content. This opinion provides answers to questions related to the implementation of dual enrollment as outlined by Assembly Bill 288 (College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) partnerships). This document additionally offers guidance for partnerships that were formed prior to the passage of this new legislation. A complimentary document, AB 288 (Dual Enrollment) College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) Partnership Agreement Guidelines for Apportionment, provides an overview of key and required elements for these agreements.

This project builds on the RP Group’s 2014 Guide to Launching and Expanding Dual Enrollment Programs for Historically Underserved Students in Californiaalso developed on behalf of the CCCCO.
